Unifying the Sisterhood
Spring Retreat:
The active chapter welcomed each other home the weekend before classes started, January 6th and 7th, to attend to business as well as bond as sisters. Our president, Megan Knutson, says this, "Retreat is where sister's come together in order to prepare for the semester ahead. Starting with the business leaves plenty of room for sisterhood bonding and relaxing before the busy semester ahead." There was all sorts of fun filled activities on the agenda for the weekend, including bowling, mock tails and canvas painting, and of course a movie night. On Sunday afternoon we took advantage of beautiful weather by taking chapter pictures!
Sigma Phi Delta Social:
Ladies enjoyed an ice skating social with the men of Sigma Phi Delta on January 25th. Our social chair, Kayla Rounds said, "It was great to get to know the guys from Sigma Phi Delta. Many of the ladies had never heard of them before. it was not easy to skate and talk at the same time, but most of us managed. We are looking forward to more fun socials this semester!" Not only did our members enjoy bonding with the men from Sigma Phi Delta, but it was a great time for our sisters to bond by helping each other learn to ice skate.
Informal Recruitment:
This year we held informal recruitment over two weeks by having events on the evenings of January 29th and 30th, as well as February 5th and 6th. Our recruitment chair, Jackie Pajl says, "With great teamwork and planning we had a very successful recruitment. Ceres had a fun time bonding with potential new members over line dancing, board games, and food. Our excitement is through the roof for many more memories to be made with the new members." We were very thrilled to hand out 17 bids and are excited to get the new members started on pledge education!
